Full course description

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt for Service and Education Operations (LSSGB-SEO) develops professionals who can lead cross-functional improvement projects from problem definition through sustained implementation using the DMAIC framework. Building on the foundational skills introduced in Yellow Belt, participants deepen their capability in Lean principles, data analysis, process design, and change leadership to drive measurable improvements aligned with organizational priorities.

This program equips learners in education, non-profit, and service-oriented environments with the analytical and operational skills needed to manage complexity, evaluate root causes, design effective countermeasures, and use data to inform decision-making. A central focus of the Green Belt experience is completing a real-world improvement project, supported by structured project milestones, and applied use of Lean Six Sigma tools.

The LSSGB-SEO program is offered as a 9-month blended curriculum, combining asynchronous learning modules with live online sessions. The curriculum consists of approximately 80 hours of learning, with significant emphasis on data analysis, process visualization, and practical application of improvement methods within participants’ work environments.

Successful completion of the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt for Service and Education Operations is a prerequisite for enrollment in the Green Belt program. Project mentoring and in-person learning opportunities are also available at an additional cost. Email ExecEd@neomed.edu if you are interested.
